I’ve updated the textures and quality of the Oculon centipede monster model…

Having invested in a few month’s subscription in Substance Painter, I was able to bring more detail and realism to the textures, whereas before I was using ZBrush only, which has limited capabilities in final texturing.

As mentioned in previous posts, this model is mostly inspired on the creature found in the Legend of Zelda, Lanmola.

Here in Hawaii, we have lots of centipedes. They are of the larger sort, with very painful stings. Being an insect lover, I was quite happy to have brought this 3d model this far.

Here are some previews…

A little creepy, a little cute…

This was one of my more complex 3d models, having more legs and segments to animate. But the idea in general seemed good, so it was worth the work.

Centipede monster, crawling top view.

Centipede monster, back view, hind legs.

Centipede monster, waving.

Dead centipede eyeball monster, curled up and crunchy.
