Overview
A maggot!
Animated, detailed, and grotesquely perfect for horror, survival, or post-apocalyptic projects.
This wriggling little monster is a medium-density animated mesh, ideal for crowd use or as a single repulsive centerpiece.
“Keep it small, keep it active. They are creepiest that way.”
Intended as a secondary character, prop, or simple enemy, the maggot strikes an uncanny balance between disgust and humor.
When oversized, it becomes oddly cute — but when tiny and animated in numbers, it’s absolutely dreadful.
Design Concept
The model was built for emotional impact — not realism per se, but visceral believability.
Its animations emphasize motion and texture: writhing idles, twitchy walks, and gluttonous feeding loops.
The model’s included PSD texture sources (diffuse, normal, and specular maps) allow for easy recoloring and repurposing —
from pale sewer larva to irradiated mutant spawn.
When paired with dynamic lighting or ambient occlusion, its slimy sheen gives it a disturbingly lifelike feel.

Usage Notes
The included demo scene showcases the maggot’s animation cycles in a simple controller setup.
Developers are encouraged to build their own controllers to match the desired behavior — especially if it’s meant to swarm or idle dynamically.
Animation Tips
- Don’t scale it up too much — large maggots become unintentionally adorable.
- For maximum creep factor, use several instances with randomized idle offsets.
- Works well as a background creature, gore accent, or environmental detail.
Big maggots are like puppies — they’re cute and not scary.
Tiny ones, however, make people want to uninstall your game.

Final Thoughts
This model is proof that even something as revolting as a maggot can be artful in motion.
Whether you’re populating a zombie nest, alien hive, or fast-food tragedy — this little larva has the energy and subtlety to make your audience flinch.
Handle with revulsion.
