This giant red ant monster was inspired from an old retro game enemy: The Cave Needle from altered beast.
The giant red ant monster can run, jump, attack, etc, in the included animations.
This is a truly strange creature, and not entirely from my own imagination. It really demonstrates the originality of the early game designers from the 80’s and 90’s era, when they had nothing but simple sprites, art, and pixels to work with. Imagine what those same authors could do today if they had the same artistic and story telling freedom.
Giant Red Ant Monster as a Game Asset
You can see the creature in the video below. He has some fairly fluid animations. He seems very rabbit-like. This is also a natural effect of so closely copying the original cave needle character of Altered Beast.
